OurWeek ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information OurWeek collects, how it is used, and your choices regarding your data.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple ID identifier and, optionally, your name and email address (if you choose to share them). We do not receive or store your Apple ID password.
Data You Create
OurWeek stores the data you create within the app, including:
- Calendar events and schedules
- Household and group information
- Quests, bounties, and prizes
- Profile information (names, colors, avatars)
- App preferences and settings
Calendar Data
If you grant permission, OurWeek accesses your device calendars (via Apple EventKit) to display and sync events. This data is processed locally on your device and shared with your household members via iCloud.
2. How Your Data Is Stored
All OurWeek data is stored using Apple's CloudKit service within your personal iCloud account. This means:
- Your data is stored in Apple's infrastructure, not on our servers
- Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple
- We do not have direct access to your data
- Data shared within households is synced via iCloud shared databases
We do not operate our own backend servers for storing user data.
3. How Your Data Is Used
Your data is used solely to provide the functionality of the OurWeek app, including:
- Displaying your calendar and household information
- Syncing data between your devices and household members
- Generating your personalized dashboard and AI daily digest
- Sending local notifications you have configured
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Data is only shared in the following ways:
- Within your household: Calendar events, quests, and household data are shared with members of your household via iCloud.
- Apple: Data is stored in your iCloud account, subject to Apple's privacy policy.
5. Third-Party Services
OurWeek uses the following third-party services:
- Apple Sign In: For authentication
- Apple CloudKit: For data storage and sync
- Unsplash: For optional wallpaper images on your dashboard (no personal data is shared)
6. Analytics & Tracking
Website
Our website (ourweek.app) uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors interact with our site. Analytics cookies are only loaded after you provide explicit consent via our cookie banner. If you decline, no analytics data is collected. You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser's local storage.
App
The OurWeek app does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking frameworks. We do not track your usage, location, or behavior within the app.
7. Data Retention & Deletion
Your data remains in your iCloud account as long as you use the app. To delete your data:
- Delete your account within the app's settings
- Uninstall the app and manage your iCloud storage through Apple's settings
When you leave a household, your shared data within that household will no longer be associated with your account.
8. Children's Privacy
OurWeek is designed for family use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. Children using OurWeek should do so under the supervision and account of a parent or guardian.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data OurWeek stores about you
- Request deletion of your data
- Revoke calendar access permissions at any time via your device settings
- Disable iCloud sync in the app settings
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or our website. Your continued use of OurWeek after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
